GM reconsidering its expansion plans in India

US based car maker GM(General Motors) reconsidering its expansion plans in India. GM recently received bail out package from the Federal government. GM in its survival plan given to the US government said that Lower GDP and industry volume outlooks have prompted reconsideration of the pace of the company's capacity expansion plans in India, which had been planned to be self-funded.

Recently GM announced that it is going to start second phase of production plant in Talegaon Maharashtra. This plant will enable GM to increase its production of engines. GM is launching some new models in India this year.
