Here’s How You Can Get The New Kia Seltos Facelift Quicker With Kia K-Code

You can even get the K-Code from someone you know who already owns Kia Seltos

Update (21/07/2023): Kia has launched the facelifted Seltos in India with prices starting at Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

The facelifted Kia Seltos recently made its India-spec debut with multiple upgrades to its design and feature list. The carmaker will begin taking orders on July 14, and in anticipation of great demand, it has introduced a way to try and reward those who own the pre-facelift Seltos. This initiative is known as the Kia K-Code.

What Is K-Code?

The K-Code is a special code that can be generated on Kia’s website. You can get the K-Code if you are an existing Seltos owner or if you know someone who owns the compact SUV. Even second-hand Kia Seltos owners can get the benefits of the K-Code. Once you get the K-Code, you will have to use it on July 14, while making the booking.

The Benefits

If you have the K-Code and make the booking using the same, you will get a high-priority delivery. That means that your delivery wait time will not be as long as for those who book the facelifted Seltos without a K-Code; and the wait time can easily stretch beyond 3 to 4 months depending on the city you live in. This initiative will help the owners of the pre-facelift Kia Seltos upgrade to the facelifted one quickly, or help their friends and family become part of the Kia brand.

What The 2023 Seltos Offers

Design

The facelifted Kia Seltos gets small but important design changes to keep up with the rising competition. It gets a redesigned front grille, revised bumper and a new set of LED DRLs. The side profile is more or less the same as before save for the 18-inch alloy wheels that will no longer be limited to the X-Line variant. At the rear, the 2023 Seltos gets a set of connected LED tail lamps and the design of the bumper has also been changed with GT Line and X-Line variants to get a new dual-tip exhaust setup.

Powertrain

The facelifted Kia Seltos comes with three engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol engine (115PS/144Nm) mated to a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic, and a 1.5-litre diesel (116PS/250Nm) mated to either an iMT or a 6-speed automatic.

The carmaker has also added the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (160PS/253Nm) from the Carens, which comes with either a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

Features & Safety

The 2023 Seltos boasts features such as dual-integrated 10.25-inch screens (touchscreen infotainment and digital driver’s display), dual zone climate control, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof.

There has been a major addition to its safety kit. The facelifted Seltos comes equipped with ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning and auto emergency braking. Other features include six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a 360-degree camera.

Price & Rivals

Prices for the 2023 Kia Seltos are expected to start from Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom) with the launch likely around mid-august. It will continue to rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara and MG Astor, and take on upcomers like the Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross.
