MG’s fourth offering in India, the Gloster, is a 7-seater body-on-frame SUV sold globally as the Maxus D90 or LDV D90. Since its world unveil at the Auto Expo 2020 the Gloster has retreated under wraps, but we now have a glimpse of its production-ready cabin. Here’s what we could discern from the images.
The Gloster gets a premium finish with a dual-tone interior and some extra goodies. The colour theme is dual-tone tan and black, giving it that elegant finish. The cabin LEDs which look similar to big-cut diamond lights look very fancy. The upholstery too gets a diamond quilted pattern stitched into it.
That’s not all the cool stuff it gets. The Gloster will feature autonomous tech like adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking, but that’s a whole other conversation. In case you are interested, you can read all about them here.
Under the hood, the Gloster is most likely to get 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine will produce 224PS and 350Nm whereas the diesel unit will put out 218PS and 480Nm. Like its international versions, the India-spec Gloster could come with a 6-speed AT for the petrol and an 8-speed auto for the diesel variant.
The Gloster is all set to launch in India by Diwali 2020, where it will lock horns with the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. Prices are expected to cross the Rs 40 lakh mark.
