Yesterday Honda Cars India revealed the launch date and engine specifications of the upcoming Honda Amaze, which thrilled everyone from auto professionals, enthusiasts to car lovers across India. According to a banner published on the company's official website, the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine will produce the 100PS (98.6bhp) and return the whooping 25.8kmpl of mileage. With such figures, the Honda Amaze doesn't just proves itself to be the most powerful car in its segment, it will be the most fuel efficient car in the country as well.
However, Honda has not yet revealed the complete details about the no. of variants Amaze will have, the petrol version of the car will also be offered with an automatic transmission gearbox. The Automatic transmission would be the same used in the Honda Brio AT. Its closest rival Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire too has a four-speed automatic variant, but the Amaze will have a five-speed automatic gearbox, making it the best-in-class Automatic car.
Along with the above mentioned 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel powered version, Honda Amaze will also come in petrol version, which will carry the similar 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, i-VTEC engine used by the Honda Brio. The 1.2-litre petrol engine too is quite frugal and responsive; producing the maximum power output of around 87bhp, it promises to return the mileage around 18kmpl.
