Honda Brio Diesel Sedan Confirmed to Launch in India

Honda Motor Global CEO Mr. Takanobu had a press conference yesterday in Japan where he shared the company's future plans for all regions including India has revealed some serious information that most were waiting for. As we all know that Honda Motor Company is working on to bring in the diesel variant of its famous compact car Brio soon in India, but that won’t happen anytime before 2013, however Mr. CEO hasn’t commented on this yet, but the diesel variant of the car was spotted testing at various place in India, so the possibilities are very strong.
As we reported earlier that Japanese carmaker is also working on an entry-level diesel sedan based on the Brio has been officially confirmed to launch by the next fiscal year. The all new brio will come in the segment where some seriously good cars like Maruti Swift Dzrie, Toyota Etios, Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Rapid and some other cars are already there, so the car will certainly have a tough competition.
Talking about India, Mr. Takanobuhad said, "In India, an all-new diesel engine will be adopted sequentially to new models starting in FY2014. In addition to the high fuel efficiency, the cost competitiveness of the all-new diesel engine will be enhanced through local sourcing and local production to make new diesel models more affordable for customers." Honda also announced to launch an all new Jazz (Fit) series globally in 2013 which would also be coming in India as well.
