Honda Brio hatchback launched in India at Rs 3.95 lakh

After a much anticipated wait, Honda India has launched its lowest-priced hatchback in India today. Abiding by their word, the Honda Brio price falls in the range of Rs 3.95 – Rs 5.1 lakhs. The Honda Brio is all set to take upon the rivals, Maruti Swift, Ford Figo, Chevrolet Beat, Toyota Etios Liva and Skoda Fabia in the market. The Honda Brio has received a good response in Thailand since its launch earlier this year. The Honda Brio concept car was first introduced in 2010 Indian Auto Expo. The economic model has piqued the interest of many Indian consumers since the launch.

In order to bring down the cost of the hatchback, Honda India has improved the localization of the car. The localization has been improved from 80% to 95% to reduce the price of the car mainly to target the buyers from sub-urban and rural areas. The Honda Brio review suggests the hatchback being offered in all-petrol variant in 4 trims – E, S, S (options) and V. The safety features included in the car are airbags and ABS, which are made available as standard in all variants

The Honda Brio specifications reveal a hatchback with a 1.2 L 4 cylinder 16 valve engine to churn out a peak power of 88 PS and a top torque of 109 Nm. Honda Brio offers a phenomenal mileage of 18.4 kmpl due to the lighter weight engine. The 5-speed manual gearbox box is deployed in the car to transmit the power to the wheels. The other car models offered by Honda India are Honda City, Honda Jazz, Honda Civic, Honda CR-V and Honda Accord.
