Finally some clarity on the launch date for the Honda City facelift has emerged. Unlike the auto majors who think twice before launching a new car towards the year end, Honda India is expected to launch 2012 Honda City on December 14th. However, the makeover of the Honda City sedan is not quite major as one would expect. The slight changes in the exteriors and couple of additional features in the interiors of the car are all to make it to the new version. New Honda City price is still open for speculations without a single hint from the auto major on the subject.

Overall, slight variations in the headlamp, front bumper and the grille is evident from the images. A little makeover on the rear end is also expected. Apart from this, retouched interiors are all on the cards. However a couple of new features are expected in the facelift version. A new ECO indicator on the dashboard will warn the users to be careful with the low fuel in the tank. An automatic climate control is the new feature to make it look slightly upmarket from the present. For the moment the 1.5 L petrol engine will power the sedan. However, the auto major might plan for a diesel engine but not anytime soon.

Honda India is slightly behind the schedule with the launch of the new Honda City. The recent floods in Thailand has caught the auto major unawares. The production of the new Honda City, Honda Brio and Honda Jazz were held up for some time causing the consumers to doubt if the launch will take place unhindered. However, the auto major has survived the situation partly from localisation and the rest from imports from China and Japan markets.
