Honda has been in the spotlight for a while now thanks to its aggressive growth plans in India. We see that Honda is all set to release their first diesel powered car in India, the Honda Amaze, which is based on the Honda Brio hatchback that is already in the Indian market. And now, Honda has revealed plans to introduce a new N-Series based car that will be smaller and more frugal into emerging car markets especially China, Thailand and India.

The N-Series traditionally showcase a large, roomy interior with compact engine space and the fuel tank placed under the floor at the center. Honda Motor Co. President, Takanobu Ito, stated that Honda’s future in the emerging markets lies in the need for small N-Series based vehicles which will first be improved and modified in terms of undercarriage length, engine size and other areas and then released.

For now Honda plans to promote its Brio range of cars further, particularly in the Asian markets after which the company will focus on development on the N-series based small car which will be smaller and more affordable than even the Honda Brio range.  According to the President of Honda Motor Co., the company has set sales targets of 500,000 units of the N-Series based models by the year 2016.
