Honda previews Mobilio Prestige variant in Indonesia

Honda that unveiled the Brio based MPV, Mobilio at the 2013 Indonesian Auto Show, has now revealed the top-of-the line Prestige edition at an event held in Jakarta. The company has been constantly previewing the MPV at select cities to get customer feedback. The MPV will go for the production in early 2014 at the company's manufacturing unit in West Java, Indonesia.

In Indonesia, Mobilio MPV has received an overwhelming response from buyers and the company has already bagged over 5,000 bookings. The Prestige is the top-of-the line variant, and it comes equipped with various features including dual airbags, seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters. This variant gets chrome touches on the doors and sports a chrome strip on the boot lid. It features a 12-spoke alloys, fog lamps and chrome exhaust tip. Inside the cabin, the Prestige model sports a double-din touch screen head unit, and several other comfort features. This model has been priced at 190 million Indonesian Rupiah (around Rs. 10.4 lakh).

Only petrol Mobilio will be made available for the Indonesian market, however for Indian buyers it will come in both petrol and diesel guise. It is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 116bhp and 144Nm of top torque. The Prestige variant only gets a CVT automatic transmission as standard. In India, the diesel powered Mobilio gets a 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine that also powers the Amaze compact sedan.
