Honda to introduce India-specific products

Honda, Japanese car giant which is present in India through a joint venture with the Siel Group, is planning to introduce products powered by India-specific engines. The company is all set to roll out small car Jazz which has India-specific engine. The engine, which Jazz is equiped with, is specially designed for Indian market. Honda Siel Cars India Vice President Marketing Jnaneswar Sen told reporters that the company had launched the same car in UK. It also has the India-specific 1.2 litre petrol engine, generating 90 PS power. When asked whether the company would develop more India-specific products in India, he said that it would happen whenever it would required.
He, however, said currently there were no plans to introduce more India-specific products apart from the Jazz. Sen said as per Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) certification, the Jazz would give a mileage of 16.1 km per litre under standard testing conditions.
