The second-generation Hyundai Creta went on sale in early 2020 in India, and the Hyundai Creta facelift has been taking shape since mid-2023. We now have word that the facelifted SUV will likely be debuting on January 16 in India.
Here’s a quick roundup of what all it will have on offer:
A Fresh Face
It will get a distinct design from the updated model launched internationally some time ago. A recently spotted test model showcased new LED headlights and DRLs that appear larger and more square-shaped. Hyundai could also provide it with a redesigned front grille with new chrome studding and tweaked bumpers front and rear.
The 2024 Creta’s profile looks nearly unaltered over the current model, except for the inclusion of bigger 18-inch alloy wheels with rear disc brakes, possibly borrowed from the Hyundai Alcazar. We might also get to see the new SUV with split and connected LED taillights, and dynamic turn indicators.
What About Its Cabin And Features?
Hyundai is expected to freshen things up on the inside by implementing a different dashboard design and new seat upholstery.
In terms of equipment, the facelifted Creta is likely to add a 360-degree camera, a digital driver’s display (possibly the 10.25-inch unit from the Alcazar), heated front seats and a dashcam. It will mostly continue to be equipped with the same 10.25-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and ventilated front seats as the current model.
The updated Hyundai Creta is expected to be offered with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) similar to those found in the new Hyundai Verna. These could include lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. It will continue to get up to six airbags (perhaps as standard with the facelift), ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and a reversing camera.
Turbo-petrol Option To Return
The 2024 Hyundai Creta will be available with a range of powertrains, which are as follows:
Specification |
1.5-litre N.A. Petrol |
1.5-litre Turbo-petrol |
1.5-litre Diesel |
Power |
115 PS |
160 PS |
116 PS |
Torque |
144 Nm |
253 Nm |
250 Nm |
Transmission |
6-speed MT, CVT |
6-speed MT/ 7-speed DCT |
6-speed MT/ 6-speed AT |
The only change is the now-familiar 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that replaces the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol option for the Creta that was already discontinued a while ago.

Price And Competition
We expect the Hyundai Creta facelift to have a starting price of Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rejuvenate its rivalry with the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
