The Grand i10 Nios will be sold in a total of five variants: Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz Dual Tone and Asta
Hyundai has launched the Grand i10 Nios in India at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh going till Rs 7.99 lakh for the top-spec model. The Nios is available in four variants- Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz Dual Tone and Asta. It is available with both 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines that get an optional AMT as well.
However, the two-pedal convenience can only be had with the Magna and Sportz variants for petrol buyers and Sportz for the diesel. What’s the whole deal? We’ll look at it after checking out the ex-showroom India prices. It’s worth noting that these are introductory prices.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Era: Lacks Necessities and falls out of recommendations
Era Variant |
Petrol |
Price |
Rs 4.99 lakh |
Exteriors: Silver surround for grille, body coloured bumpers, halogen headlamps and 14-inch steel wheels.
Interiors: dual-tone grey interiors, front and rear door map pockets.
Convenience: Tachometer with vital stat indicator, front power windows, manual AC and front power outlet
Audio: NA
Verdict
This is a petrol-only variant of the Grand i10 Nios and misses out on almost every necessity you’d expect from a modern car like a manual day and night inside rearview mirror, driver seat height and steering adjust or even central locking. This variant of the Nios might undercut both the Ford Figo and Maruti Swift’s entry-level variant but doesn’t offer any great value to the buyers. We’d suggest that you look past this variant if you are eyeing the Grand i10 Nios unless you can’t increase the budget further.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Magna: Should be the minimum entry point
Variant |
Petrol |
Diesel |
Magna (Magna AMT) |
Rs 5.84 lakh (Rs 6.38 lakh) |
Rs 6.70 lakh |
Premium over Era (extra for AMT) |
Rs Rs 85,000 (Rs 54,000) |
NA |
Safety: Central locking, day/night IRVM, headlamp escort function, speed-sensing door lock, impact sensing auto-unlock.
Exteriors: Gloss black grille with silver surrounds, LED daytime running lamps, body coloured door handles, wheel covers, roof antenna and electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors. The ORVMs get power-folding function and integrated indicator but only on the AMT option.
Interiors: Passenger seat with back pocket, rear parcel tray and passenger vanity mirror.
Convenience: Keyless entry, tilt steering adjust, driver seat height adjust, rear AC vents, auto-down driver power window, rear power windows, rear power outlet and front USB charger.
Audio: 2-DIN audio system with FM, Bluetooth, USB, steering-mounted audio controls with front and rear speakers.
Verdict
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Magna gets a decent hike in features that makes it acceptable as a daily driver. While the Rs 85,000 premium might seem just a bit on the higher side, Magna is the variant that makes it a modern-day car with all the basic necessities ticked. Moreover, this is the least you’ll have to spend for getting a petrol AMT variant or the entry-level diesel variant of the Grand i10 Nios.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Sportz: Variant of our choice
Variant |
Petrol |
Diesel AMT |
Sportz (AMT) |
Rs 6.38 lakh (Rs 6.98 lakh) |
Rs 7.85 lakh |
Premium over Magna MT (extra for AMT) |
Rs 54,000 (Rs 60,000) |
Rs 1.15 lakh* |
Sportz Dual Tone |
Rs 6.68 lakh (Rs 30,000 over std variant) |
* In the case of diesel, the premium is inclusive of features and the AMT as the Sportz diesel is only available with an automatic
Safety: Rear parking camera with display and rear defogger.
Exteriors: Projector headlamps (Only AMT and dual tone), 14-inch alloy wheels, 15-inch alloy wheels (dual tone), roof rails, shark fin antenna, blacked out B-pillar and window line and power-folding ORVMs with integrated turn indicators.
Interiors: Glossy black inserts, metal finish inside door handles and chrome finish gear knob. All black interiors with colour inserts and leather-wrapped steering wheel for the dual tone variant.
Convenience: Wireless charger (dual tone), auto climate with eco-coating (eliminates odor) and cooled glove box.
Instrument cluster: 5.3-inch MID with analogue and digital display.
Audio: 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice command and Arkamys tuned speakers.
Verdict
If you are eyeing the Grand i10 Nios then this will be our recommendation simply because of the additional features that it gets for a premium of just Rs 54,000. This amount will not have any sizeable effect on the final monthly EMI amount either.
If you want some feel good elements and a more striking variant of the Nios then you can spend an additional Rs 30,000 for the dual tone variant as it offers most of the features of the top-spec variant at a relatively lesser premium.
While the petrol Nios gets an acceptable price hike, the diesel variant undergoes a whole Rs 1.15 lakh hike but along with the features it also gets the convenience of an AMT. That’s right, you can’t have the 1.2-litre diesel with a manual in this variant.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Asta: Loaded for diesel buyers but misses out on two pedal convenience
Variant |
Petrol |
Diesel |
Asta |
Rs 7.14 lakh |
Rs 7.99 lakh |
Premium over Sportz Manual |
Rs 76,000 |
Rs 14,000 over Sportz AMT |
Exteriors: Projector headlamps, chrome garnish on outside door handles and rear end, rear washer and wiper and 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
Interiors: Leather-wrapped steering wheel, chrome finish on parking lever tip.
Convenience: Push-button start/stop, wireless phone charging, adjustable rear headrests and luggage lamp.
Verdict
The top-spec Grand i10 Nios gets a dose of feel-good features but only a couple will come handy in improving your ownership experience. In addition, the premium that petrol buyers have to pay is on the steeper side. But if you want to splurge on the diesel top variant and don’t mind the absence of an automatic then go right ahead with this variant.
