Speculations are high that Hyundai, is planning to launch revitalizing LPG variant of Hyundai i10 by the end of September. After LPG variants of small car Hyundai Santro and sedan car Hyundai Accent, LPG variant of Hyundai i10 is expected to hit the Indian roads. Hyundai is also planning to produce Hyundai i10EV in Korea in limited numbers and it has already showcased Hyundai i10EV at Auto Expo.

Hyundai LPG i10 will meet BS4 emission norms, the size of fuel tank could be between 22-26 liters. In India, the primary fuel will be petrol and LPG will take over when the petrol tank is dry.

Hyundai i10 LPG will gun straight against its rivals Maruti Wagon R LPG variant and Chevrolet Beat LPG variant which are already present in the Indian auto market . Another big reason behind it is the continuously rising petrol prices. Hyundai does not have a diesel variant for Hyundai i10 and one could not be launched before 2013. So LPG variant of Hyundai i10 was the best alternative for boosting the fuel efficiency of Hyundai i10.

Indian auto market is dominated by hatchback cars, car manufacturers are keen to launch more small cars in India. Long awaited Toyota Etios Liva, Honda Brio and the refreshed version of Maruti Swift are few upcoming small cars in India which are expected to hit the Indian roads soon. Toyota Etios Liva is expected to be launched on June 2011. Nissan NV200 is expected to be launched in late 2011 and its expected price is 7-8 lakhs. Hyundai i10 is one of the top small car which has gained popularity ever since its launch. Hyundai i10 LPG will get a tough competition from other best hatchback cars in India which are available in LPG variants.
