Hyundai receives two awards for excellence in car exports

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), is the largest exporter of the passenger cars and is also the second largest car producer in India has been honoured with 'Niryat Shree' Gold and Silver Trophies for the year 2008-09 by Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO). The Gold Trophy to HMIL was for the Engineering and Metallurgical products-Non-MSME category and the Silver Trophy was for the Highest Foreign Exchange Earner category.
The prestigious award was given by the Hon'ble and Reputed Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia, at the function which was organized by FIEO in the capital last evening. The awards were started in 1996, which honours the efforts of the companies that excels in exports in its respective fields.
Mr Arvind Saxena the Marketing and Sales Director, received the award on behalf of its company said that, FIEO is a prestigious institution for the export promotion in India and to receive recognition from them is an extremely delightful moment.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd., has set a benchmark as its is the first automobile company to mark export of 10 lacs units in a decades time. The company exports cars and vehicles in more than 100 countries in and across Africa, EU, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Latin America. The company has backed the title of being the leader in the exports for the passenger cars in India for the sixth time in a row.
HMIL is exporting 45 per cent of the total production from India. The company started the exports with 20 cars batch in Nepal in 1999 and in less than a decade the company has accelerated its exports in 115 countries auto markets. Hyundai India at present exports the hatchbacks Hyundai Santro, Hyundai i10, Hyundai i20 and the sedan Hyundai Accent. These cars are extremely popular in India also.
The company has an advanced manufacturing facility near Chennai which is affixed with state of the art production facility, quality check and testing of the product capabilities. HMIL introduced the second facility in 2008 February, which manufactures 300,000 cars every year which has doubled Hyundai's production to 600,000 cars every year.
