Hyundai Rolls out 5 Millionth Car in India

Hyundai Motor India Limited has today marked the production of the 5 Millionth car at its manufacturing unit in Irrungattukottai, near Chennai since it started production in the India in 1998. Hyundai has successfully completed 15 years in India of bringing world-class products to the Indian market. With an investment of USD 2.7 billion and production capacity of 6.8 lakh cars in the Indian market.
With a GDP contribution of 4% to Tamil Nadu State government HMIL has significantly contributed to the Indian economy since 1996. Leading with 46% export market share and 20.3% in the passenger car segment, Hyundai has become the most loved and trusted car manufacturer in India.
HMIL’s CSR arm, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) has been founded to follow sustainable, compassionate and effective practices for our stakeholder community and has announced a programme to plant 1 million trees as part of ‘Go Green’ Initiative. HMIF has planted 2 lakh trees till date under this novel initiative.

With the 5 Million Car Roll-Out, Hyundai also celebrates 15 years of excellence in India accompanied by their long term association with Shahrukh Khan. Hyundai and Shahrukh Khan’s association has been one of the longest brand ambassador associations in India.
