It was only recently that we got a confirmation from Hyundai about the i20 N Line coming here and we’ve now learnt it will be unveiling the India-spec model on August 24.
The i20 N Line is just a sportier version of the standard i20 with updated suspension, cosmetic changes, and a meatier exhaust note, as opposed to the performance-oriented N version which gets a more powerful engine featuring significant mechanical changes.
Hyundai will offer the i20 N Line in three variants: N6 iMT (clutchless manual), N8 iMT, and N8 DCT (dual-clutch automatic). While the N6 and N8 trims could be based on the Sportz and Asta, the top-spec N8 DCT is expected to bear similarities with the Asta (O) trim.
The i20 N Line gets several cosmetic differences including tweaked front and rear bumpers, a revised front grille, side skirting, and possibly a new alloy wheel design. Hyundai will also apply the ‘N’ badge all around the i20 N Line’s body.
Like the turbo variants of the standard model, the i20 N Line is likely to feature red accents in the cabin along with metal pedals and exclusive N badging. Hyundai will offer it with a 10.25-inch touchscreen system, ambient lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, BlueLink connected car tech, a sunroof, and cruise control. Safety features will include six airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

While the i20 N Line will get the same 1-litre turbo-petrol unit (120PS/172Nm) as the standard version, it could get a different suspension setup for an enhanced driving experience. It will come mated to either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT.
The N Line trim will command a premium over the top-spec Asta (O) with an expected price of Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). Its only direct rivals will be the Volkswagen Polo GT and Tata Altroz Turbo.
