Toyota’s luxury MPV, the Vellfire, is due to arrive in India as a CBU import with deliveries reported to begin by March 2020. Select dealerships have reportedly begun accepting bookings for the Vellfire a few months after the MPV was previewed to select customers. Various details of the India-spec Vellfire have now been leaked.
The India-spec Vellfire will be offered in a single, fully-loaded variant with two luxurious captain seats in the middle row as standard, otherwise known as the ‘Executive Lounge’ package. Both seats are ventilated, reclinable, electrically adjustable and get their own power-operated ottomans as well. The Vellfire will also feature powered sliding doors, two sunroofs, three-zone climate control, individual tray tables and mood lighting.
It is reported to feature two 10.2-inch screens for the rear passengers and a 360-degree camera too. The leaked images showcase an aftermarket 7.0-inch Blaupunkt touchscreen infotainment system and the India-spec MPV will come with a dual-tone beige and black interior theme. All the models that have reportedly been shipped here feature a Pearl White exterior paint job.
The Vellfire will be powered by a 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain with a combined output of 197PS of power mated to a CVT automatic. It is expected to be priced around Rs 75 lakh when officially launched in India by the end of 2019. Currently, the Toyota Vellfire only has one direct rival in India, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class. However, it could also compete against the Kia Carnival, which is due to arrive in 2020.
