Initially the vehicles will be brought to India via CBU from Thailand, but the company is in the process to set up its facility at Chittor District, Andhra Pradesh. The company has also informed to recruit around 2,000 people in India with an objective to produce one lakh units every year. India which is considered to be a growing market for the SUVs, will surely provide the much needed space to the company in India, the Isuzu top official believes. Answering to a question about whether the company is a late entrant in the competitive Indian automotive market, Shigeru Wakabayashi, deputy MD, Isuzu said that the Indian car market is in the phase where the Chinese car market was 10 years back. In fact he believes that the Indian market has the potential to grow much faster than that of China and become the second largest market.
