Japan Based Carmakers Close Tsunami Hit Plants

Recently the world was left stunned with the devastating earthquake in Japan which resulted in a tsunami then. The country is badly affected with the natural calamity and many regions have been destroyed completely by this earthquake. The devastating calamity has put a total halt in the lives of Japanese. The high tides of Tsunami turned the ships and flushed the entire costal area of Japan. Looking at the condition, many Japan based car makers have put a hold on the production process on the factories based in Japan.

The officials of Toyota Motor Co have stated that the production process at two factories have been put on hold due to the Earthquake in Japan. These two manufacturing plants of Toyota have an annual capacity of 420,000 small car units. These factories were employed for making cars to export in overseas markets. For no the company has not made any statement as to when will the production process will be initiated again. Toyota has commented that at present the status of the plants is not clear. One of its plant is situated in Iwate and other in Miyagi. These two areas are badly affected by the Friday's quake and subsequent tsunami. The workers working in the factories are being evacuated which has made it difficult to analyze the current situation.

Coming to the second Japanese auto giant, Nissan Motor has put a halt on 4 plants operating in the nort-east regions of Japan. The officials of the company have stated that the four plants situated in the northeast Japan and the ones located close to Tokyo are being put on hold. They also said that the operation center is also not working as it is temporarily suspended. The officials of Nissan Motors have said that the operations will be put on hold for Sunday and Monday. The devastating calamity has put a total halt in the lives of Japanese. The high tides of Tsunami turned the ships and flushed the entire coastal area of Japan.
