Having been launched in 2017, the Jeep Compass is due a facelift which has been spied testing a few times. Latest spy shots of the updated Compass give us a peek at its redesigned dashboard that features a new free-standing central display.
Jeep’s parent company, FCA, had earlier revealed its new UConnect 5 infotainment system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display. The unit, which is expected to be featured on the facelifted Compass SUV, is 10.25 inch and hence, the new free-standing design. It will also feature a more powerful processor with new features such as voice recognition, natural voice capability and voice commands with the prompt ‘Hey Jeep’. The UConnect 5 system will get connected technology too along with over-the-air updates.
The current Compass’ infotainment system is housed inside the dashboard with the touchscreen display going up to 8.4-inches in size. It features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity as well as navigation capabilities and can be used for climate control settings too.
