Kia Carens X-Line Launched, Prices Start From Rs 18.95 Lakh

The Carens now joins the Seltos and Sonet in getting a matte grey exterior colour option, thanks to the X-Line trim

• Kia Carens X-Line is available in petrol DCT and diesel 6AT with six-seat layout

• Comes with Matte Graphite Exterior Colour and two-tone Black and Splendid Sage Green interiors.

• Gets a rear seat entertainment (RSE) unit for left rear passenger and orange stitching all around the cabin.

• Based on the top-spec Luxury Plus variant, the X-Line commands a premium of up to Rs 55,000.

• No mechanical changes have been made; Carens X-Line gets the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engine options.

Kia has refreshed the Carens line-up by launching a new variant. Called the X-Line, it is available with automatic transmission only with both petrol and diesel options. The prices are set at Rs 18.95 lakh and 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), respectively.

The Carens X-Line is based on the top-end Luxury Plus variant and gets a bunch of updates both on the outside and the inside. On the outside, the MPV gets a Matte Graphite colour, gloss black finish on radiator grille, front and rear bumpers, ORVMs, rear skid plate, and side door garnishes. Kia is offering 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with silver brake callipers on the Carens X-Line.

Updates on the inside include a dual tone Splendid Sage Green and Black upholstery, rear seat entertainment package (left rear passenger), green seats with orange contrast stitching, black steering wheel cover with orange stitching and orange stitching around the gear lever. The entertainment package consists of a screen that can be controlled using a phone app and gets features like screen mirroring, podcasts, and other entertainment apps. The X-Line comes in a 6-seat configuration. 

In terms of mechanicals, the Kia Carens X-Line retains the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and  1.5-litre diesel mills. These develop 160PS and 253Nm and 116PS and 250Nm, respectively. While the petrol motor is paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox, the diesel gets a 6-speed automatic.

The Carens takes on the Maruti Ertiga and Maruti XL6. It also serves as an affordable alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross, and Maruti Invicto.
