    Most Powerful: Ford EcoSport

    Torquiest: Mahindra XUV300

When the output figures of all sub-4m SUVs are considered, it is the Ford EcoSport that is the most powerful of the lot while the maximum torque is produced by the Mahindra XUV300’s petrol engine. In terms of transmission options, Mahindra’s sub-4m SUV is the only model that does not get an automatic gearbox with its petrol engine. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport get a 4-speed and a 6-speed torque converter respectively, while Tata offers the Nexon with a 6-speed AMT. Kia and Hyundai offer the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol units of their SUVs with both a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed iMT (intelligent manual transmission), which is essentially a clutchless manual gearbox.

    Diesel:

Except for the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, all the other sub-4m SUVs are offered with diesel engines as well.
