Lamborghini Huracan Performante Launched At Rs 3.97 Crore

The sixth variant of the Huracan family is the most hardcore of them all

Lamborghini has launched the most hardcore version of the Huracan family, the Huracan Performante, at a price of Rs 3.97 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). It was officially unveiled at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show and, like most Lambos, instantly won hearts of all the enthusiasts the world across. Let’s see what it is made of.

In essence, it is powered by the same 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 petrol engine that does duty in the rest of the Huracan range. However, in the Performante spec, the combustion chamber carries more punch. It belts out 640PS of power and 600Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and power is sent to the road via an electronically-controlled all-wheel-drive system.

The powertrain is set up in such a manner that 70 per cent of the engine’s grunt is available at just 1,000 rpm. This helps in recording a 0-100kmph time of just 2.9 seconds, which is exactly the same as the recently launched Aventador S, and also helps to reach a top-speed of 325kmph. Performance figures like these have helped the rampaging baby bull to post a record breaking lap time of 6 minutes and 52.01 seconds at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany. That’s nearly five seconds quicker than Porsche 918 Spyder and seven seconds faster than its elder sibling, the Aventador SV.

The Lamborghini Huracan Performante is also lighter on its feet than the standard car by 40kg. While the gorgeous body is carved out of aluminium and Lambo’s own forged composite, its fame is made out of a hybrid between aluminium and carbon fibre.
