Samaraditya Pal, Tata Motors’ counsel reportedly submitted the statement before Justice Saumitra Pal that Tata Motors India was forced to leave Singur soon after finishing the main part of the venture for developing Tata Nano cars, reason being the law and order circumstances. As per Pal, about 90% of the facility was finished and numerous other establishments including the office building had already been developed at the site. He also told that Tata Motors could not be blamed of dumping the project site that the West Bengal government took it over under the Act of Singur Land Rehabilitation and Development.
