The Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 has arrived with a price tag of Rs 1.55 crore (ex-showroom). The first locally-assembled unit has rolled out of the brand’s Chakan facility today.
Battery and Performance
The EQS 580 4Matic gets a 107.8kWh battery pack with a dual-motor setup and an all-wheel drivetrain (AWD) churning out 523PS and 855Nm. This combination gives the electric sedan an ARAI-claimed range of 857km. It can do 0-100kmph in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 210kmph.
Charging
The electric sedan supports fast charging up to 200kW and can be topped-up from 10-80 per cent in 31 minutes. Apart from this, the battery can be recharged in five hours using a 22kW charger and in 10 hours with an 11kW charger. You also get multi-level regenerative braking with a control pedal behind the steering wheel.
Features
Just like the EQS 53 4Matic+, the EQS 580 also comes with the optional 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen. It comprises three screens including the instrument cluster, the central infotainment screen and a front passenger display.

You also get a seven-inch rear seat tablet, four-zone climate control, ventilated front seats with massage function, a Burmester 3D sound system, gesture controls, head-up display, panoramic sunroof and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Safety
On the safety front, the EQS 580 is offering nine airbags, camera-based lane departure assist, steering assist, lane keeping assist, parking assist, auto-dimming IRVM and ORVMs, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a 360-degree camera.
The Mercedes-EQS 580 has no direct rivals in India yet except for sportier luxury EVs like the Audi e-tron GT and Porsche Taycan.
