The recently launched Mercedes-Benz ES 580 has received more than 300 bookings in less than a month. Bookings of the made-in-India electric sedan commenced in mid-September, before its launch, at an amount of Rs 25 lakh. It is the second EQS model from the carmaker in India after the EQS 53 4MATIC+ AMG, which carries a premium of Rs 90 lakh.
Along with the EQS 580, the carmaker has sold 11,469 units of its lineup in the country so far this year. The highest number of units sold were of the GLE and GLS SUVs in the third quarter, while the E-Class and C-Class were the highest-selling sedans.

The EQS 580 is powered by a 107.8kWh battery pack paired with a dual motor setup, this combination generates 523PS and 855Nm and provides the luxury electric sedan with an ARAI-claimed range of 857km, the highest in the country so far. Inside, you get a 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen display that spans along the dashboard. Mercedes also offers a seven-inch rearseat tablet, ventilated front seats with massage function, gesture controls and a panoramic sunroof.
Mercedes is locally assembling the EQS 580 at its Chakan plant in Pune and retailing it at a premium price of Rs 1.55 crore (ex-showroom).
