It could be the most affordable electric car in India, undercutting the Nexon EV

The e-KUV100 will be launched in 2021 for private buyers.
-
It was first launched at Auto Expo 2020, but only for commercial buyers.

The spied model gets a new colour for the front grille inserts and different alloy wheels, compared to the one launched at the Expo.

It should get a 15.9 kWh battery pack with a 54.4PS electric motor offering a range of 147km like the Expo model.
The upcoming electric version of the Mahindra KUV100, the e-KUV 100, has been spied in production-ready form ahead of its 2021 launch.
The spy shots mainly confirm the production version of the e-KUV100 will look slightly different from the one launched at Auto Expo 2020 and even the regular KUV100. The spied model gets a new blue colour for the ‘arrow’ inserts on the grille, no ‘ME’ (Mahindra Electric) branding on the charging port flaps, no triangular applique on the C-pillar, and different alloy wheels (although the same as the ICE-powered KUV100), in comparison to its commercial version.
The e-KUV100 commercial gets a 15.9kWh battery pack with an electric motor rated at 54.4PS and 120Nm. It offers a range of 147 kilometres and can be charged up to 80 percent in 55 minutes with a fast charger. A regular charger will take around 6 hours for a full charge. We believe the electric powertrain should be the same for private buyers as well.
It gets connected car tech with features such as cabin pre-cooling, location tracking, remote diagnostics, and driver pattern monitoring.
The e-KUV100 is likely to be priced around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), which will make it the most affordable electric car. Meanwhile, the e-XUV300 will be launched in 2022, rivalling the Tata Nexon EV.
