The flood in Uttarkhand shocked and gave pain to all of us, but one thing that we all should appreciate is that the tragic event made us stand together to help our brothers and sisters fighting for their lives. It has brought together people across all caste, creed, religion, business houses and political parties. Extending a helping hand to victims of flash floods in Uttarkhand, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra has announced a donation of Rs. 1 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to provide urgently needed relief to flood affected victims in the state.
Commenting on the situation in the state, Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group said, " We are shocked and grieved to learn of the unprecedented calamity and havoc created in Uttarakhand in the wake of the recent flash floods. This unprecedented human tragedy in the Devbhoomi calls for a quick response in terms of relief for the stranded pilgrims and the unfortunate residents of the affected areas. This is a token donation from our company in response to the appeal by the state government."
We appreciate the move taken by the home-grown multinational giant in such needy time.
