Mahindra Logan gets Rs 80,000 discount

Mahindra & Mahindra, India's largest SUV manufacturer, announced on Thursday that it has cut-down the price of its bare bone Logan Sedan. The car has become cheaper by Rs 24,000 to Rs 80,000, as per the statement given by the company.
Mahindra group has bought out Renault's 49 percent stake, with ending the joint venture, which was selling Mahindra Renault Logan sedan in India. The brake-up was following differences over design and engineering of its Logan. Both of the companies had some disputes over extension of the joint venture to manufacture other models, as the sales of Logan model had reached to a very low level. Where all major car maker were launching a series of new cars in India, the Mahindra-Renault JV was sticking to its only sedan Logan.
Where the monthly sales of s was 500 units the Maruti Suzuki India was selling 50,000 cars per month. Since starting of this year many new cars has been launched in India including Chevrolet Beat, Volkswagen Polo and Ford Figo. Now it is expected that the Mahindra group will redesign the Logan model with decreasing its length to a certain level, which in turn will make it receiving a duty cut of more then RS 50,000.
