Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up aka Getaway Launched in Brazil

Indian auto major, Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the famous lifestyle double cab-pick up/ Getaway in Brazil, the Pick-up is called the Pik-Up there. The left-hand driven Pik-Up has been rolled out at a price of Rs. 89,900 Reals, which is around Rs 23.80 lakh in Indian Rupees. Having powered by a 2.6-litre common-rail engine, it produces the maximum of 110bhp and torque of 269Nm @ 2800rpm and has been made available in both four-wheel drive (4WD) and two-wheel drive (2WD) options.
Speaking on the occasion, Jose Francisco de Oliveira Neto, General Manager- Bramont said, "We intend to provide the market with vehicles incorporating quality and technology of an international standard, offering customers a strong value for money proposition, Given the company’s strong track record, Mahindra vehicles will be able to compete successfully in the Brazilian 4x4 diesel utility segment."
The Brazilian version of the vehicle has got a bunch of exciting features like remote locking, air conditioning, electrical adjustable door mirrors, power steering, a double DIN audio system with USB and SD card support and various others. Mahindra has also set up a manufacturing plant in Brazil to assemble the vehicle and aims to build 5,000 cars annually. As per word on the street, the company is also considering to launch other SUVs in Brazil including XUV500 and Quanto.
Mahindra is trying to mark a global presence by going a step further and launching its products in different countries. For them Brazil is an important market like India due to its consumer preference similarities.
