Mahindra Thar Launched in Kerala

Mahindra Thar CRDe was launched today (05 January 2011) in Kerala by the Indian Sports Utility auto maker Mahindra & Mahindra. The Jeep like SUV is launched with a price tag of Rs 6.11 lakh for the BS car version (ex-showroom price) in Kochi. Behram Dhabher, the General Manager (Vehicle Development) informed that Kerala has been of the one biggest auto market for these types of cars and the Indian car brand is all set to meet the requirements. He also added that the all new Mahindra Thar visions to play a vital role in developing the Classic Jeep for rural as well as urban India. For the car admirers looking for a more savvy look and those who wish for adventure and a great experience, this 4x4 will offer it all.

This super stunner 4x4 wheel drive, Mahindra Jeep comes with manual transmission  with power packed CRDe 105 BHP powertrain and can be driven by the wired technology which ensures better acceleration and greater speed. To be tough on road, this power wagon is affixed with rigid ladder frame chassis which is mated to handle the Jeep efficiently even on rough terrains.

Currently, Mahindra Thar is available in Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Kochi, Bangalore, Kalkatta and Mangalore. It is expected that by the end of this year, the car will be launched in the rest of the country. The stout Mahindra Thar will be placed as lifestyle car for the rural auto market in both the two wheel and four wheel drive options. Sunil Lohani, the General Manager (South Zone) of Mahindra said that the Mahindra Thar BS III car model will come with a price tag of Rs 4.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Kochi).
