Mahindra Verito basks in glory in South India

Mr Arun Malhotra, a senior Vice-president of Mahindra and Mahindra has informed that they have completed the all-India launch of Mahindra Verito, with Tamil Nadu emerging out as a strong market for Mahindra Verito. The credit for its remarkable growth in the market has been given to the ‘grow up to the Verito’ campaign conducted featuring the ‘Verito man’. The company has plans to extend the marketing campaign to digital and radio media as well.

The Indian auto maker Mahindra & Mahindra had bought the Renault’s stake out of the joint venture, Mahindra Renault in April, last year. Apparently, after the changes in the ownership, the Indian auto maker had been able to increase the mileage of the sedan Mahindra Logan in the last few months. The Renault badge had been dismissed and the name of the sedan had been replaced with Mahindra Verito.

In addition to the name change and launch, the auto makers are now considering hastening the launch of the Mahindra Verito in two new variants, out of which one will be a refreshed model, and the other one being a sub-four meter one. However, the Mahindra Group is content with continuing the same Renault engine in the Mahindra Verito variants, storing the plans to change it to the domestic engines in future. Last month, the Mahindra Verito posted sales of 1, 150 units against 563 units in June last year, which is a considerable improvement in sales.

The company is reported to have declined to provide any more information on the launch dates of the upcoming new variants including the Mahindra Verito price for the new variants, other than the revelation made that one of the new variants will be a refreshed version and the other will be a small car with sub-four meter in length.
