Maruti 800 is proving to be a star at the ongoing Aero India 2011. Seeking all the attention where a number of businesses and fighter jets, medium multi role combat aircraft contenders and LCA are on display. Bearing a registration number KA-09-N-2920, it is not an ordinary car with the potential to run on the roads but it can also fly. This is the first ever static display of a flying car which could be India's answer to the US's Transition Roadable Aircraft (TRA).

Mr. AK Vishwanath, CEO of a Bangalore-based company is the man behind this innovation. He is a former employee of the Cadence Design Systems in USA. He researched for 15 years, without his dedication and constant perseverance we wouldn't have got the first ever flying car. Mr. Vishwanath revealed that four technicians had been working on his dream project. It has a vertical lift, runs on petrol and has undergone few modifications on its body.
After being tested at the wind tunnel the car is likely to take its first flight in the coming few months. The car is claimed to have performed well at the wind tunnel test. The car is still waiting for the approval form the Directorate General of Civil Aviation's (DGCAs) to take its first flight.
