Maruti Cervo has been in news recently as it is considered to be the successor of India's once favourite Maruti 800. Maruti Cervo would be the latest small car from Maruti, very well placed in the times when small cars are doing big in India. Maruti Cervo is expected to be launched in June 2010. The car has already be launched in the Japanese market and has got a tremendous response. Due to the new BS IV emission norms coming into play the age-old and country's most selling car Maruti 800 was phased out from the Indian markets.
Maruti Cervo happens to be the perfect replacement of Maruti 800 keeping today's need and taste in mind. It is sporty, sleek and has got really attractive looks. The car would be powered by a 660cc petrol engine delivering 60 bhp of power and 64Nm of torque. The car would be priced at an extremely attractive price-tag of 1.5 to 2 Lakh, and would offer a four speed manual transmission.
With Advanced Variable Timing technology, the car would offer great engine efficiency as suggested by preliminary reports. The exact specifications on the colors and variants are not disclosed by the company officials as of now, but would soon be in public-glare as keeping the Indian cost-sensitive market in mind, this would be a perfect package.
Maruti Cervo has been completely redesigned with some totally new and enchanting features. The interiors and exteriors are done beautifully with a sleek body line, eye-shaped head light cluster, body colored side view mirrors and a Honeycomb radiator grille. It is a light weight car and as speculated would offer a mileage of 20 to 24kmpl.
