Maruti Eeco: small wonder of Auto Expo 2010

Maruti Suzuki, the largest auto manufacturer in India, is all set to showcase its new compact car Maruti Eeco at the Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi. This much-talked about car will be equipped with a 1200cc powertrain which is claimed to be highly fuel efficient. The new car will comply with BS-IV emission norms which are to be come into force from April 2010. The Maruti Eeco will be available in two variants that will be having three-row and two-row seating arrangements and can accommodate five and seven passengers respectively. The innovative engine of the car generates 73 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm while it belts out 101 Nm of peak torque at 3,000 rpm. The compact car might be priced between Rs 4 to 5 lakh. Maruti Suzuki is also going to have world premier of its first small multi-purpose vehicle-Concept R3 at the 10th Auto Expo. This multi-purpose vehicle is developed in India within 9 months. In addition to these vehicles, the company is supposed to display 17 vehicles at the gala show which include Suzuki Kizashi- a sedan. The world fame model is believed here to be priced around Rs 10 to 12 lakh. Volkswagen will launch its small car Volkswagen Polo at the forthcoming Auto Expo 2010.
