Maruti India planning to increase manufacturing to 1.2 million for FY'11

Maruti Suzuki India, the czar of the auto industry, has announced recently that the company assumes to produce 1.2 million cars in the ongoing financial year.

I V Rao, Managing Executive, Maruti Suzuki stated that the company is expecting to manufacture 1.2 million cars for 2011 financial year which was 1 million cars for the financial year 2010. He also added that as the Indian auto brand is continuously increasing in its manufacturing, from last five months the manufacturing units have gone to 1 lakh cars every month.

Revealing further he said that as soon as the second manufacturing plant in Manesar will start its production Maurti expects the further rise in its production.

Simultaneously, MSIL is also busy in establishing a new test track with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore, in Haryana. The domestic key player has also purchased a land for the same. Maruti Suzuki India is establishing infrastructure and facilities in the test track which is expected to start in the coming three years' time.

Maruti Suzuki India rolled out 585,523 units which includes Maruti Alto, the best seller in Indian auto industry from April to December in the last year against 459,507 units in 2009 same time period.

Maruti has also been honoured with the prestigious title of the “Manufacturer of the Year” for 2010 by a renowned award giving institution in the domestic auto sector. Maruti is the truly the market king especially in the small car segment by selling winning products such as Maruti Alto, Maruti Ritz, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Swift and much more. But now with the leap the domestic auto mobile sector is taking, Maruti also wishes to expand in the premium segment. Now the company is launching its first expensive car which is a sedan christened as Maruti Kizashi. The new baby from the Indian car makers is expected to come at a price band of Rs 12 lakh. The car will hit the Indian shores by end of January, 2011.
