Maruti Kizashi to be launched in India soon

Japan based one of world's largest car manufacturers Suzuki is all set to launch Maruti Kizashi model In India, as told by a top Suzuki executive to media. Kizashi, which is Suzuki's first-ever sports sedan with four wheel drive option was launched in North-American market in December 2009 and since then company has sold more then 300 units in the country.

Gene Brown, Vice-President (Automotive Marketing and Public Relations), Suzuki Motor corporation America, said in a statement given to PTI that the Maruti kizashi model will be launched in India soon though he hasn't provided any details regarding the launch of Kizashi model in India as he is appointed for company's operations in American market. He was talking on the sidelines of Chicago Auto Show.

Mr Brown added that Maruti Suzuki acquires a market share of more then 50 percent in India and it is a key market for the company. Maruti last month launched Maruti Eeco model in the country at the Delhi Auto Show.

Two variants of Maruti Kizashi model was displayed at Chicago Auto Show named as Kizashi S and Kizashi SLS. Where the Kizashi S model is available in price range of USD 18,999 and USD 21,749, the Kizashi SLS model is coming in price range of USD 24,399 to USD 26,749 in US market. Maruti Kizashi model will compete with popular car models like Honda Civic, Skoda Laura, Toyota Corolla and upcoming Toyota Etios after its launch in India.

Maruti is currently most popular car-maker in India and some of its cars are segment leaders in terms of sales including Maruti Alto, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire.
