Maruti Kizashi to launched in India by 2011

Maruti Kizashi, the long awaited sedan model in India, is all set to be launched here by year 2011. The car has already been launched in the US market and was also showcased at the Delhiauto Expo in January this year.

The Maruti Kizashi model is powered with a J24B 2.4 litre, 4 cylinder, DOHC engine. Its power-train is capable of producing maximum power of 185 hp at 6,500 rpm (Manual Transmission) and 180 hp at 6,000 rpm (continuously Variable Transmission). The maximum torque from the engine is 170 Nm at 4,000 rpm in both type of transmission. The Kizashi model will be launched with a BS-IV compatible engine. It will be available with a 6 speed manual transmission or a CVT. The CVT version reduces power to 180hp.

Maruti Kizashi is basically a four door luxury sedan, which is designed with a unique style. The front view of the car is sporty, aggressive and elegant with bigger regal honeycomb grille, jewel like projector headlamps and lower grille. The upper and lower grille are fitted in a 'U' shape design. The headlight cluster houses headlamp and turn indicators. Rain sensing automatic wiper are there at the lower end of the front windshield.

After its launch the Kizashi model will be competing with popular luxury cars in India, in this segment, including Honda Civic, Hyundai Sonata, Skoda Laura  and Toyota Corolla. Maruti Kizashi is expected to be in the 10-13 lakhs price bracket and it is expected to roll out from Maruti’s Manesar factory.
