Maruti mulls introducing CNG variants for all models

The continuous hike in petroleum prices by the petroleum agencies in the country has made the customers to rethink about their driving habits to over-come their financial problem rising because of hike in petroleum prices. As a result of this, customers have started preferring the use of CNG cars as a better option. Keeping this trend of customers in concern the leading car manufacturing company Maruti has decided to launch all its models with CNG engines except the CBU models.

According to Mr. Alok Jaitley, General Manager, Homologation Environment Planning Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Maruti is now working on CNG models. Already five such CNG cars have been launched with Martui Brand name and now company plans to introduce the same strategy also in other models. At present Maruti has installed CNG technology in its variants Maruti Alto, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Eeco, Maruti SX4 and Maruti Estilo cars.

At present because the supply of CNG is limited to few regions within the country including the states like Delhi NCR, Maharashtra and Gujarat the Maruti's CNG models are available only in these areas. However with the strong network CNG, Maruti Suzuki will soon provide CNG in other parts of the country also. Driving the car with CNG kit is considered as the best driving option for those who are going to their offices daily by car or who regularly use cars. Keeping this point in concern Maruti has launched the next generation CNG technology in its models which reduces cost of driving to 60 percent with better fuel economy.
