Maruti says repeat buyers contribute more than new buyers in sales

The Indian auto industry is in the making of a history with the growth charts soaring heights and demand driving the auto mobile makers crazy. New stats reveal that it is the second time buyers who are adding these numbers on the sales graph.
As per Maruti Suzuki India which holds almost 50 per cent of the Indian auto market, there is a considerable growth in the first time automobile buyers but the shooting arrows in the sales graph can be majorly credited to the repeat sales or second time car buyers.
As per the senior executive in Maruti Suzuki India, the number of first time buyers compared with the second time buyers has decreased marginally. It is a very interesting stats that the increasing buyers are families which are adding on to its cars or the buyers preferring exchange offer or repeat buyers.
Maruti Suzuki India rolled out 6,96,923 cars in the third quarter of the current fiscal year which reveals the 50 per cent of the market share it holds in the domestic auto market.
The official from the Indian auto mobile czars stated with stats that the first time buyers since the last four years time have dropped from 52 per cent to 45 per cent in the overall sales for the company. He thinks that for the rest of the auto makers, it will be quite lower.
If flipping the X files, for the small car markets it is the first time buyers who are driving the growth process in the domestic auto market.
Vishnu Mathur, Director General Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers said that in the Indian auto industry the growth is higher in the small car segment which holds 70 per cent of the domestic auto market. The overall sales are majorly from the small car segment from the cars like Maruti Alto, Hyundai Santro. The buyers of these cars are the first time buyers whose percentage is quite high. In 2010, the Indian auto market rolled out 18,70,483 car which showing a growth of 31.03 per cent when compared to the sales of 2009.
