Maruti Suzuki’s premium MPV, the XL6, has been launched in the country with prices starting from Rs 9.80 lakh. The XL6 will be retailed through Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa showrooms and is available in two variants and two transmission options. Take a look at the prices of each variant below.

Available with both petrol and diesel engine options, Ertiga is priced between Rs 7.54 lakh and 11.20 lakh. The petrol-only XL6 retails between Rs 9.80 lakh to 11.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The XL6 is based on the Ertiga and is touted as a more premium avatar of the donor car. However, unlike the Ertiga which gets the option of a diesel engine, the XL6 is only availale with the donor car’s BS6-compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to a mild-hybrid system. This unit churns out 105PS and 138Nm. Like the Ertiga, both variants of the XL6 are available with the option of a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
On the outside, the XL6’s premium quotient is reflected in the auto LED headlights with DRLs and LED fog lamps. The redesigned front fascia sits upright and gives the MPV a more rugged look. Inside, the XL6 can only seat six as it comes with captain seats in the second row and the interior is done up in black. The Ertiga, on the other hand, offers a bench type seat in the second row and a dual-tone cabin theme. The cabin uses materials like black leatherette upholstery to lend it an air of premiumness.
Thanks to the redesigned front profile and additional body cladding, the XL6 differs in size from the donor MPV. Take a look at the differences in the table below.

As mentioned before, the XL6 is available in two variants - Zeta and Alpha. Both variants are based on the top two variants of the Ertiga and are fairly loaded in terms of features. Additionally, it gets LED headlamps and fog lamps as well as cruise control over the Ertiga.
On the safety front, the XL6 comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with hill hold (only on automatic variants), ISOFIX child seat mounts and front seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters.
The Maruti Suzuki XL6 competes with some variants of diesel-only MPVs like the Mahindra Marazzo and Renault Lodgy.
