India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki's first ever MPV, the Ertiga has been a huge success here in India. The car which is turning one on April 12 has already sold over 70,000 units in India, and to mark the success and the first anniversary of the Ertiga, the company is planning to launch a special edition version of the car, a report published on GoaOnWheels claims. However, the company hasn't said anything about the special edition.
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga anniversary edition will be offered with some new features including chrome finish on front grille and around the fog lamps, optional Bluetooth and GPS touchscreen, art leather seat covers and anniversary badging. The market which is not in a good shape has certainly affected India's largest car maker too, so we have been constantly seeing the MSI coming up with different schemes, special editions, instant delivery and other discounts, something that we have never seen before.
So the special edition version of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga might help the company revive its sales. As per the word on the street, the company is also considering to launch a CNG version of the Ertiga, however we are not sure about the time-line as of now. In March 2013, Maruti Suzuki launched Swift Star limited edition in India, which was to mark the Swift's global success. The car has been a huge success globally including India that received the vehicle back in 2005. Sold in a total 125 countries, over 30 lakh units of Swifts have been sold worldwide, out of which India accounts for 45% of the total sales.
