Maruti to face hindered growth in 2011-12

Maruti Suzuki, India's biggest car manufacturer, is speculating a strong hindrance in the smooth running of business for financial year 2011-2012. The company is claming the upcoming hindrance to the fuel prices touching skies and interest rate increasing exponentially. The company officials have said that these major factors will line up prominent speed breakers in the short run but company will be bulling for long run.
Addressing the upcoming concern, Chief General Manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava commented that the company is buoyant and is expecting that the entire industry will ace a good growth with the sales volume touching 4.5 million units per year as against the current 2.6 million.
The company officials did not comment anything on the possible decline and hindrance. But Mr. Srivastava said that auto world grew unexpectedly this year at 30% as against 23-24% in that of last year. He then added that the industry has been registering highly unpredictable figures which has made it difficult to predict the future pattern. On being questioned about the exports, he commented that scrap subsidies in Europe as bees removed which has resulted in squeezed exports volume. He than said that due to this company is not aiming for new destinations on globe and concentrating on the existing ones. He claimed the Financial Year 2011 to close at 1.50 lakh units as against 1.47 lakh units in the previous year.
He also pointed the prevailing unrest in Egypt is affecting the company’s exports as it amount to complete 3% of the total figure.
Commenting on the northern region market he commented that including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, the northern region forms an essential part of the company's operations by constituting 8.5% of the total sales. The company is selling a total of 10,500 units pre month. He said that this particular region is a good target for luxury car manufacturers thus Maruti Kizashi will have good opportunity for it.
