Mercedes Benz India will launch the 2015 C Class - C-220 CDI diesel on February 11, 2015. The petrol guise - C-200 was launched in November last year and on similar lines, the diesel C 220 CDI will also be imported as CBU initially, following local assembly later. It is likely to be offered as a sole variant, similar to that of petrol. The vehicle will compete with Audi A4, BMW 3 series and Volvo S60 in its class.
You must be wondering, Mercedes has already launched the C Class in India few months back, but the vehicle is a rare sight. That’s because the major volume gainer will be launched next week - the diesel C Class. Talking about the features, the ‘baby S’ offers full-LED headlamps with daytime-running-lights and LED tail lamps. On the inside, the 2015 C Class 220 CDI offers a new dashboard design, which is less claustrophobic as compared to outgoing model. It offers a 8.4-inch touch-screen with MB’s COMAND infotainment system featuring a new touch pad, along with the regular scroller.
The 2015 Mercedes Benz C Class diesel is likely to get an uprated version of the previous C’s 2.1-liter oil burner. The engines in the previous generation C Class produced close to 170bhp and 400 Nm of torque. Like its petrol sibling, the engine will be mated to a 7G-Tronic Plus gearbox.
