Mercedes- Benz launched a new variant of S350 in India

Mercedes-Benz India, a 100% owned subsidiary of German automobile manufacturer Daimler AG, launched a new Version of its famous luxury sedan Mercedes-Benz S350 on Thursday. The model has been launched in both diesel and petrol variants with a price tag of Rs 80.5 lakh to Rs 82 lakh. Where the petrol version of the Mercedes-Benz model is coming with a price tag of Rs 82.5 lakh, the Diesel version is priced at Rs 80.5 lakh.
As per the statement given by Mr Wilfried Aulbur Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, the S-class model is already a segment leader in the luxury sedan segment and now the new S350 will advance its leadership in the segment. Where company sold 3,250 models in year 2008, it managed to sell 3,220 cars last year.
The company entered in Indian market in partnership with Tata Motors in year 1994 as a commercial and passenger vehicle manufacturer. In year 1997 the joint venture between both the companies ended and Mercedes-Benz India started making its range of luxury cars including C, E and S class. The company was using a facility that it leased by Tata Motors for the production of its luxury sedans until year 2008 after which it launched its new facility in Pune(Maharashtra) in February 2009.
