Mercedes Benz registers 80 per cent growth

Mercedes- Benz India, the luxury car maker declared recently that the company recorded 80 per cent growth in sales for the year 2010 and December being the star month by registering the best in terms of sales figure.
As per the company's executive, 5,819 units were sold in 2010 which showed a rise of 80 per cent as against the sale of 34,250 cars for the year 2009.
The cars which made a mark were Mercedes E Class of which 2490 car models were rolled out, 2070 car models of Mercedes C-Class were sold and also the premium SUVs Mercedes R-Class, Mercedes GL-Class and Mercedes M-Class contributed in the sales.
If looking at the December sales for 2010, the company rolled out 710 cars. The auto giant's car models such as Mercedes E-Class 371 car models, Mercedes C-Class 141 car models and in the Sports utility vehicle segment 127 units were rolled. Mercedes-Benz sky rocketed its sales graph with 115 per cent increase against 2009's sales of 334 cars.
As per the officials from the company it said that they are thoughtful in offering the complete profile of winning products, wide range to choose from and most importantly increasing on the current network of sales by venturing in B list cities.
Recently, in the wake of expanding on its footprints, the company agreed on a deal with Synfera to establish the biggest paint shop in India in its manufacturing unit. It is being learnt from the reliable sources that Mercedes Benz is planing to invest almost Rs 700 crore for the cars paint shop. The Indian arm of the German auto giant is also planning to set up a bus body production plant in the Chakan unit which holds the yearly capacity of around 700 to 900 models.
