I had the opportunity to test drive the Mercedes Benz GLK350 in the gulf and I have to say, WOW. I cant wait for this to launch here. It feels so solid and I was truly imressed by its off roading capabilities. The car i drove was equipped with the special 'G' button, which shifts the throttle response, puts the vehicle in low range gear and adjusts the suspension. I test drove the Audi Q5, which ill say was nice as well but the rounded edges on the vehicle was a turn off and finally I was convinced on the GLK, which I might add is completely different from the Generic looks of todays new releases of SUVs in this class. Also the front of the Q5 is so common to all the other Audis which I found boring. BMWs X3 is one vehicle in the BMWs stable which is poorly designed, didnt bother test driving it. Now the've seem to have launched a smaller version called the X1 which is a tad better to this but dont expect either of these (X3 and X1) to go anywhere off road. The GLK 350 and the Audi Q5 shine amongst the German rivals. But ask me for a choice and Ill say Mercedes Benz GLK 350. A superb compact offroader it sure is!
