Mercedes Benz have released the very first snaps of its upcoming brute, G500 4X4 (square). To make the picture clearer, this angry yellow super-SUV is a more sane sister of the outlandish G63 6X6 AMG that have become a bit familiar by now. It (G500) was reportedly caught testing in November, 2014. Soon after the German manufacturer confirmed its existence.
Since, this new terrain leaper derives its origin from the 6X6 version it gets a raised ground clearance, 6X6 adaptable clearance ranges from 205 to 459.74 mm. So expect this one to be equally insane. To make things more serious it gets 22-inch wheels wrapped with 325/55 off-road tyres. Moreover, it will get slight modification to the chassis-body with carbon-fiber components. It will also get more pronounced mud-deflectors over the wheels.
Powering this marque will be the AMG’s V8 producing around 422 bhps. Markedly, the 6X6 version gets an exclusive V8 that produce 544 bhp of max power and a peak torque of around 759Nm.
Mercedes is sure to disclose more features and changes in days to come. It is quite possible that Merc will display G500 4X4 (square) in the approaching Geneva International Motor Show.
Speaking of the 6X6 version, the tristar manufacturer have kept its production to 20-30 units annually. The G63 6X6 gets a highest water wading depth of a little over 3 feet. It rides on monstrous 37-inch tyres that can put harshest of terrains to shame. Last but not the least a whooping price tag of 4,16,500 Euros (INR 2,95,62,603), excluding import duties that will further push the price.
