Mercedes to launch CGI engines on 13th May

Mercedes-Benz India, one of country's leading luxury car-maker, is all set to launch its next-generation direct injection petrol engines, pn 13th of this month. The new engine will be using a sophisticated petrol direct-injection technology, with spray guided combustion process. The new engine, which has been named as CGI engines, will be using the all new piezo-injectors.
The new CGI engine is claimed to be coming with the stratified operating mode, in which the engine runs with high excess air, which in turn boosts the fuel economy. In this engine, a series of injections takes place during each power stroke, with spaced just fractions of a second apart. It will be power the company's C200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY sedan, with capacity of generating the maximum power of 186 hp.
The new CGI engine is coming with an improved fuel economy of up to 11.74 kmpl a magnificently decreased CO2 emissions at 201 grams per km (7 % less than the figure for the previous four-cylinder compressor engine technology), with conventional fuel injection. The C200 CGI will be available in only Avantgarde variant and with a price tag of Rs 34.61 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
