Mercedes-Benz and Renault on promotional pedal with Grand-Prix

The first Formula 1 race in India is going to be held on October 30th, this year. In the Airtel Indian Grand Prix race, the car manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Ferrari are going to take part in the competition. Mercedes-Benz and Renault have already marked their presence in India, however, contesting in the race, they envisage to further strengthen their presence in India. The racing event is going to take place at the Buddh International circuit in Greater Noida. Ferrari, which does not have any manufacturing base in India, has plans to launch its prototypes, race track drives, virtual games and introduce racing schools in the country.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is going to be the entrant in the racing event with a top-speed of 317 km/hr. The tickets for the event will be sold from 30 Mercedes-Benz outlets until the end of the racing season. Mercedes-Benz hopes to gain the attention from the younger segment in the age group of 15-40 years to promote their sports car. In that direction, the German auto brand has introduced the 'date with speed' concept in 24 colleges in India which offers a remote controlled Mereced-Benz car race-the winners will get a free ticket to the F1 race. Mercedes-Benz, which is in the second position in the luxury segment hopes to topple BMW in the sector. Mercedes-Benz is luring the consumers into buying their cars by offering them to have a free drive on the racing circuit after the F1 race. As a part of the invitation event in Mumbai, 125 Mercedes-Benz cars will follow the racing cars Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and F1 car.

Renault has recently made its debut in India as a separate entity and intends to expand its business in the second fastest emerging car market. Renault has apparently sold 700 cars in India since its launch in May. With the Formula 1 Grand Prix coming to India, it is expected to change the outlook in India on the sporting events; which is predominantly focused on Cricket as of now. The other Mercedes-Benz models offered in India are Mercedes-Benz C Class, Mercedes-Benz M Class, Mercedes-Benz CLS Class, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz GL Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class, Mercedes-Benz SL Class and Mercedes-Benz R Class.
